Five Steps to a Successful Data Center Relocation
A fast-growing number of organizations are relocating their data
centers, but too many lack plans that reduce the short-term risk of
business disruption and the longer-term risk of having to move again. Directing a complex data center move
is anything but easy, however. When done right, a move requires careful planning, expert execution
and experience. But if poorly managed, a move can disrupt business operations for days once the
new site goes live. In this whitepaper, we discuss the pitfalls to avoid as well as the site selection, facility design, and relocation
techniques that can make any data center move a success.

Data Center Optimization: Beware of the Power Density Paradox
Many organizations are running out of power, cooling
or physical space in their data centers. Individual tactics such as high density blade servers and storage, data center
containers, modular power systems, virtualization and cloud computing all offer some potential relief to
these limitations, but only when implemented appropriately.
This white paper describes the power-density paradox, and how to avoid its traps by balancing facilities
capabilities with core IT needs. Such an approach can optimize the life span of your current facility or help you
create a new data center optimized to meet the needs of a modern, high-density environment.
Balance high density deployments with available
power, cooling and space.

Avoid the Hidden Cost of Bias and Preference in IT
What some vendors, VARs (and even employees)
don't want you to know. In this white paper we will provide examples of how vendor bias, limitations in staff experience and silo
operations are consuming significant budget resources unnecessarily. We will also show how to overcome these prejudices by applying vendor neutrality, third party oversight and strategic outsourcing.

Full EPA Report to Congress on Data Center Energy Efficiency
The United States (U.S.) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed this
report in response to the request from Congress
stated in Public Law 109-431. This report assesses
current trends in energy use and energy costs of
data centers and servers in the U.S. and outlines
existing and emerging opportunities for improved
energy efficiency. It provides particular
information on the costs of data centers and servers
to the federal government and opportunities for
reducing those costs through improved efficiency. It
also makes recommendations for pursuing these
energy-efficiency opportunities broadly across the
country through the use of information and
incentive-based programs.
