Meet Everett Alvarez

Meet Everett Alvarez

Everett recently joined the TDS team as a Senior Migration Consultant. Everett comes to us from VMware, where he had co-delivered a project with TDS for American Tire Distributors in the Charlotte NC area.  His exposure to TransitionManager, the TDS culture, and our people as part of this project will get him on the fast track to delivering successful projects to our clients and partners.

Throughout his career, Everett has had the opportunity to pick up different experiences in the world of data centers. But the journey doesn’t stop there as he chases down more certifications and qualifications in the technical, ITIL, and project management spaces to further broaden his professional footprint.

In his spare time Everett has picked up cycling, although it may be getting a bit cold out there in the windy city of Chicago!  Hoping that one of these years he can show us that green river on St Patty’s day!

What are you most excited about in your new role here at TDS?
"I am excited to learn more about TransitionManager and apply its robust capabilities for end-to-end orchestration of some of our complex client IT transformations."

Why did you join TDS?

I am an Information Technology professional with over 20 + of experience and specializing in VMware virtualization for the past 10 years. I have taken projects that are small to large scale to help customers get where they want to go with their challenging IT initiatives. While working at VMware for a highly sensitive migration project. VMware partnered with TDS to complete all three phases of the migration initiative. I was pretty impressed with the professionalism of the team and especially the capabilities of TransitionManager. I am a firm believer in always working for a company that can provide exceptional business solutions to customers and stand by their products. TDS left an impression on me and when an opportunity opened up, I took it, and here I am!

What were you doing prior to TDS and what skills do you bring with you?

I was working for VMware as a Senior Consultant providing expertise in VMware vSphere upgrades, pre-sales migration calls, vSphere Health Checks and assist in any migration initiates that went into red alert. By joining TDS, not only do I bring my 10+ years of VMware experience, but also migration experience in all those three phases. In addition, I am able to wear many hats during the different phases of projects and have experience working with customers in different industries.

What’s your perspective on our industry, our technology and why it’s important?

As business objections change, costs are one of the main drivers that make organizations change direction on how they look at operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX). Most organizations look at their IT infrastructure as a whole to try to find where they can save money. In order to make that happen, organizations are moving their workloads to cloud solutions with the help of third-party partners who can bring in that expertise from bringing to end. The end result is an organization saving in OPEX and CAPEX in a true hybrid model.

TDS brings deep expertise and years of experience helping organizations discover their assets and dependencies and building a road map on how to migrate those workloads, with minimal risks and reduced costs. It couldn’t be more relevant today and I couldn’t be more excited to deliver those solutions.

Do you think you'd be a good fit for TDS?

We value employee input and reward hard work. Become a part of our success!
