TransitionManager Disaster Recovery with AWS

TransitionManager, a powerful orchestration platform from TDS, is built to integrate with native and third-party tools, including AWS’s CloudEndure, to reduce the complexity of DR, and turn it into an easy, “one-click” process, minimizing the time and risk normally involved.

Leverage Automation to Orchestrate a Resilient DR Program

Companies today expect their IT teams to keep systems running. And when outages do occur, they must recover quickly to minimize disruption to business services.

While full site failover keeps your business running, the ability to failback is critical. And IT still needs to identify and rectify the root cause of an outage to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. It all hinges on the dependability of your technology to deliver vital information when you need it

TransitionManager, a powerful orchestration platform from TDS, is built to integrate with native and third-party tools, including AWS’s CloudEndure, to reduce the complexity of DR, and turn it into an easy, “one-click” process, minimizing the time and risk normally involved.

TransitionManager integrates with AWS’ native SDK to inventory all applications and their associated servers that are under protection and ready for cutover; Then, it automates recovery to the AWS cloud at the Application Level.

This eliminates the risk of manual processes and accelerates the overall effort, ensuring that crucial configuration settings are passed, in bulk for all affected applications.

Bottom line, it enables IT to accelerate and de-risk every step of both recovery planning and execution.

In a recent project, TDS worked with the AWS CloudEndure team to ensure they could match an enterprise customer’s on-premises SLAs within a cloud environment, allowing them to confidently make the move to cloud.

Operating in a heavily regulated industry, the customer required a fully automated failover architecture that would ensure protection of their Tier 1 applications across AWS regions while meeting their required SLAs. This defined a framework for a seamless process which would ensure they could easily add servers to the failover automation workstream as they continue to migrate additional workstreams to AWS in the future.

To the customer’s delight, TransitionManager not only streamlined every phase of the project to meet their requirements, it also saw them achieve value beyond their requirements due to the easy scalability of the workstream automation.

90% reduction in labor with automated setup of migration transport tools
98% reduction of manual entry errors
50% reduction in number of resources (often highly skilled, highly paid)
38% reduction in technical labor costs, reduce manual steps from 20 to 2
50%–70% more workstreams migrated
85% reduction in event execution time
